AI moves too fast to follow alone. The whole point of this community is doing it together: put in the reps, meet the people around you, and grow with the technology instead of watching it from the sidelines.

    AI moves fast; nobody should have to keep up alone. We run hands-on sessions where you actually use the tools — not sit through another slide deck.

    New model, new framework, new hype cycle? We talk it through together — what's real, what it changes, and what it means for the things we build.

  3. Build

    Hackathons, co-build sessions, and demos of real work in progress. Bring a project, find teammates, ship something you can show.

  4. Connect

    The heart of the community is the people. Regular meetups in Portland where you actually get to know the developers around you — and who you'll build with next.

Hack the Build — Your Hackathon A-Team

A hands-on workshop where you'll team up with AI as your hackathon crew. We'll put Cursor Pro and Grok Bot to work as digital teammates — sketching an app into existence, editing content and styling, then testing and deploying it with custom skills.

We'll also dig into templates for the unglamorous-but-crucial parts: submitting hackathon projects and running a smarter job search. Bring a laptop; leave with a workflow.

Hacktoberfest Hack Day Portland x Portland AI Devs

A full Saturday of hacking at the Portland State Business Accelerator — people showed up with ideas and half-started repos, mentors floated between tables, and the day closed with live demos and judges deliberating over two winning teams. Big thanks to MLH for making it possible, PSBA for the space, judges David Schargel, Jim Slavik, and Oleksii Tsioma, and organizers Harsha and Vinith.
